UConn Climate Corps

The UConn Climate Corps is a new undergraduate classroom and service learning opportunity that debuted in the 2017-18 academic year. The program consists of a 3 credit course (Fall semester) on the local impacts of climate change, followed by a 3 credit independent study (Spring semester) during which students work with Extension faculty to assist Connecticut communities in adapting to climate change.  In Spring of 2018 the Corps worked with the municipalities of Hartford, Westbrook, Old Lyme and the Avalonia Land Conservancy. In Spring 2019 the teams are working with the municipalities of Stonington, Madison, Mansfield, Norwich and Waterford, and with the Southeastern CT Enterprise Region and the CT DEEP.
